Fun Oregon Facts

Oregon has the dubious distinction of being one of the weirdest political states in the union. There have been several very nontraditional ideas about politics which originated within the state, such as secessionist ideas which have included splitting into different states and even joining other countries. Oregon is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The mild conditions endemic to this geography mean that Oregon has a very high agricultural output, which includes the production of 95% of the hazelnuts grown in the United States. The current population of Oregon is 3,641,056 people. Oregon became a state in 1859, with its capital located Salem. The most populous city in Oregon is Portland.
